Data plate
The data plate is an identification plate attached to the driver's door of the Mustang. The latter gives you a lot of information about the Mustang you have in front of you: type of body, color of paint, month and year of production, type of axle, gearbox... All this information can be useful to you to verify the good origin of a Mustang.
The dataplate takes different forms depending on the year:
1965
A black background indicates a non-acrylic paint, this plate is used until December 28, 1964, then Ford distinguishes the types of paint used with a light gray background an acrylic paint.
1966 > 1969
1970 > 1972
From 1970, the data plate is a self-adhesive label placed in the driver's door pillar.
